Empowering Researchers with AI for Grant Writing at MUBS

Knowledge Consulting Limited (KCL) recently hosted an insightful workshop at Makerere University Business School (MUBS). The workshop was to engage the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management in a dynamic session on AI-powered grant writing. Led by KCL’s Ali Ndiwalana, the half-day workshop explored how artificial intelligence can enhance the speed, quality, and strategic alignment of research proposals.

Bridging Strategy and Technology

Participants were introduced to practical strategies for identifying relevant funding opportunities. Aligning research ideas with donor priorities, and using AI tools to generate and refine concept notes. Through live demonstrations and a hands-on group activity. Furthermore, faculty members experienced how AI can accelerate the initial drafting process while preserving academic integrity and originality.

A Timely Intervention for African Academia

The session was well received, with researchers appreciating the blend of strategic insight, ethical guidance, and practical exercises. This initiative is part of KCL’s broader mission to strengthen research ecosystems and digital fluency across African universities.
